MA Research - Narrowing down my research methods
Wightwick Manor (National Trust, 2015).
Wightwick Manor is a National Trust property containing Pre-Raphaelite art, and wallpapers and fabrics bought from Morris & Co. Sir Geoffrey added the Morris collection in 1937. The collection includes Morris's original sketches and soft furnishings.
After careful consideration, I have decided to narrow down my research methods and visit the following organizations in the future and not during my two years at Bath Spa University. The reason for this decision is due to the fact I have limited time to visit London during 2016 and 2017 and need to prioritise my research methods to places of importance before persuing my second choices for further research.
I would like to visit Standen House, Wightwick Manor, The William Morris Society, Kelmscott Manor, Red House and The National Archives, British Library. The information gained from my continued research into Morris’s life, work and influence and the printing processes will enable me to transfer my knowledge to others as a teacher of printed textiles and surface pattern design.
