Anna Gravelle Textiles

Another brilliant lecture by Textile Designer Anna Gravelle, also Artist in Residence at Bath School of Art & Design. Bristol based textile and surface pattern designer, Anna currently produces hand and digitally printed textiles as well as textural pieces.

Anna uses tufted wool to create her pieces including these beautiful striking pufets and throws.

Her USP is uniqueness, texture, colour, pattern using natural fibres. She is inspired by skeletal landscapes, frosty days and grasses, mark making and monochrome photography.

In her lecture she discussed costing, funding, the importance of using good photography in your work and displaying at trade shows and how she came about working with tufting machines.

Anna recommended BITA (British Interior Textile Association) for funding. BITA is the voice of British Interiors & Textiles and aims to inform, support and promote all aspects of the Interiors & Textiles industry for the mutual benefit of the industry as a whole. They link their members with suppliers and services including: relevant associations, affiliations and governing bodies, in the UK and beyond. BITA is dedicated to the prosperity of this exciting industry.
