Leading Wallpaper Manufacturers

Altfield London

Company USP: High end company in ideal location in the ‘Interior Design Central’ of London, Chelsea Harbour, offering their customers high end brands, materials including silk, cashmere and velvets. Their professional website has a blog and the press page displays their work in all the top Interior home magazines and publications.

Description of work: The Altfield collections currently contain textures, foils, metal leaf, mica chips, silks, cashmere, velvets, woven grasses and papers, digitally printed leather effects. The crackle collection is a Pigment & metal leaf on chalk | kaolinite & line base with non-woven backing, a handmade product offering the customer a unique product.

Trend: Yes for textures, hand made using metals. Colours: Brown, gold, silver bronze.

Evaluation of work: The Japanese Metal Leaf wallpaper collection is hand crafted using centuries old techniques handed down through generations which are made from real gold, copper or silver leaf, applied using chopsticks and hand brushed onto a paper backing. Very impressive history of how the Japanese made wallpapers. Stunning collection!

Price Bracket: Prices requested via enquiry form. Prices received confirming prices are from £216.00 - £3100 per roll for Japanese Metal Leaf. Over 20 designs available in this collection.

Comparison to my work: Wallpaper. Altfield's is a hand made product whereas my USP is hand painted watercolours. Metal gold leaf. (mine being foiled wallpapers). Environmentally friendly. (I use environmentally friendly papers and printing technologies by choosing printing companies that abide by these ethics. (Digital uses less ink than Roller, surface or Screen but is for smaller print runs than roller. (Surface and roller printing is cheaper if a bigger print run is required, once the initial screens and rollers have been set up) Hand made is inevitably more unique but time consuming and is targeting a unique market.

Even More My Style

Ted Baker's 'Flight Of The Orient' is effortlessly elegant, with sparkle-adorned blossoms falling among bejewelled birds with a palette of soft blues and pale pinks alongside zesty yellow and vibrant fuchsia. 100% Cotton Sateen. This is completely my style. Fresh, hand painted design of birds and blossom using my favourite colours.

Another Ted Baker design similar to my style and which is 'On Trend is 'Pure Peony' using beautiful floral prints using lavish blooms with a nude colour palette to create a romantic aesthetic with a nostalgic and dreamy feel. Painted using watercolours. Peony is my favourite flower and I love the combination of flowers and bright colours.

Another item on trend is the range of cushions from Kai Also sold via Ashley Wilde. Scenes of the Amazon are definitely the Trend of 2016. Jungle prints are everywhere. Inspired by the history and contemporary spirit of Brazil and with the Rio Olympics on the horizon, oversized leaves and nature inspired prints are the 'In Thing' at the moment.
